“After fourteen generations, we still have the passion and the enthusiasm that our grandparents previously had.” With this sentence of Judit the new video of our winery ends, an excellent audiovisual summary about the past, present and future of this wine project. A future that seems to be insured because, according to Juanje, “couldn’t be in better hands”.

After completing their university studies, both Judit and Juan work day by day in this Rioja wine cellar. A wine that both define as their passion since they were children, and about which Juanje assures that it runs through his veins. “Our job is to create experiences for people and be the bridge to happiness” he adds.

But what would be of this winery without the grandfather Isidoro, who continues enjoying working after so many years dedicated to it: “I started to work with my grandfather at the age of 13. I travelled all around Basque Country delivering our wine. Such was the success of our wine, that it was usually sold out in less than 2 months.”

But Isidoro is present, since the past corresponds to the more than 10 generations that have preceded him. As Judit tells: “Our ancestor whose surname was Ibarrola. They arrived to Rioja Alavesa trying to find a better life and they decided to take the valley’s name where they were living:” Valdelana, that means Valley of Work.”
