VARIETIY:
Malvasía and viura. An equal blend between the main white variety from Rioja, viura and malvasia, a minor variety in Rioja, suited to dry climates, poor solls and with a high sensivity to humidity.
AGE OF VINEYARD:
Over 35 years.
SOIL:
Calcareous clay.
CLIMATE:
Mediterranean with Atlantic influence.
RAINFALL:
An average of 650 liters per year.
WINEMAKING:
Made by the youngest member of the familiy, Juan. A horizontal press is used with carbonic snow for a maximum aromatic extraction. Pre-fermentation for three days until the start of the fermentation.
Tasting Notes
VISUAL PHASE:
Clean, bright, straw coloured with hints of green.
OLFACTIVE PHASE:
Memories of peach marmalade, fruits in syrup such as pear, apple, quince, almond flowers.
GUSTATIVE PHASE:
On the palate, this is naturally semi-sweet wine, good acidity so it is not cloying. A pleasent slightly bitter finish.
SERVICE TEMPERATURE:
From 6°C to 8°C.
PAIRING:
It pairs with appetizers, tapas, rice, pasta, white meat and fish.
